Mourvèdre is the newest member of our Rhone varietal family. Planted to contribute spice, deep colour and complexity to our Syrah blend, this first vintage was small, enough for one barrel only, giving us a great opportunity to ferment it separately and hear the voice it has in our central Victorian vineyard.
It was bottled without fining or filtering from the barrel, and has produced a medium-weight red, exuding delicious spice and pepper and juicy fruit. It’s perfect to enjoy with mushrooms and the slightly richer dishes we enjoy over Autumn.
