A Resounding Success

Sometimes the planets do align... and everything you hoped for falls in to place. Last Sunday, Rosa Mitchell from Rosa's Kitchen in Melbourne came up to our newly opened cellar door and entertainment area and cooked a delicious four-course lunch for friends and family.

Rosa and her assistant Bianca worked closely with my "dream team" of Deb and Doreen in the kitchen and Travis, Beth, Isabelle, Matilda (my daughter) and Leesa to bring a little taste of Rosa's Sicilian cooking and her spin on our local produce.

Here's what some of our guests had to say...

"What an amazing day, the food, the wine and company was perfect!"

"Thank you for an absolutely glorious day."

"I don't think I've had such a lovely day for a long time. It was perfect - a stunning setting, delicious food and of course your beautiful wines - wow, I could live on them! We had a great table and really enjoyed the company. It was all just divine, wish we could do it all again."

"Thank you for being such a warm and lovely hostess and for the oranges which we are still enjoying as we took quite a few..."

"Loved seeing all the family - the girls were great waitresses. Rosa is lovely and so calm in the kitchen...

"All the dogs, chooks, vegetable garden - your lovely vineyard! You are very talented and I trust it was a successful day for you, you couldn't have put on a better PR event."

"We have all said that it was just the most idyllic day. We are so pleased that the weather performed for you, as every bit of preparation you had done including the food and wine was perfect."

"What a fabulous day you gave us all. So much attention to detail; the delicious meal, beautiful wines and all the helpers were delightful. You must do it again!!"

"Our thanks to you and Rosa and all the others who made it so lovely."

Some of the photos we took on the day are below and there's loads more on our Facebook page.

We will definitely do another Spring lunch next year! And maybe even try to get a bus or two organised, so there is no worry about anyone drinking and driving.

We also have a number of smaller events planned for the rest of the year. Our cellar door, The Osteria, will be open for special events - a cooking demonstration with a special chef, a workshop, a special varietal or regional tasting - or by appointment.

We're also thinking of opening up for special birthdays and private gatherings - a Wine and Food Group, even small weddings - so let us know if you would like to organise anything and we will see if we have the day free and can arrange the wines and the menu. We have the verandah and cellar door area when it's really hot or raining and the vintage cellar, behind the fire, when the weather is cooler.

Don't forget, if you'd like keep up to date with what's happening at the vineyard, please join our mailing list or like our Facebook page.
